Chicken and Dumplings by The Crock Pot Girls
I haven’t made Chicken and Dumplings in ages. This recipe used a crock pot which meant I didn’t spend any time slaving over the stove and this gave me time to enjoy a movie with my sweet husband (Real Steal).
Tasty Rating:
It was pretty good. I like this type of meal much more than my hubby but even he thought it was ok. I felt like the dumplings weren’t quite done enough – this recipe had me cutting up biscuits and dropping them in the crock pot for the last hour but I think it needed more time to cook – they were a little squishy.
Husband Clean Up Rating:
According to my hubby, it would have been fine if not for the fact that I overboiled the crockpot. He’s still cleaning that up.
Overall:
I’d make it again but I’d find a different way to do the dumplings.
Jasmine had a hard time choosing between Chicken and Biscuits…

Where: Seattle, Washington
When: August 2011
Why: PAX
It was our first time taking the Seattle Light Rail.
Our first time staying at the beautiful Hotel Monaco.
The first evening we did a little exploring.
We ended up at the Science Fiction Museum.
And enjoyed a tasty dinner with local beers at the Pop Kitchen + Bar.
We made sure to visit the Space Needle too. This was our first visit since 2004.
And our first ride on the Seattle Monorail.
I had some fun with Animoto putting together a video of our monorail ride!

There is an app for the iPhone called the ATT Upgrader.
The husband and I were chatting about the possibility of upgrading our phones – we bought each other an iPhone 4 for our 4 year wedding anniversary in 2009. The husband mentioned that he saw that we had a good upgrade price for the new iPhone 4s through the ATT Upgrader app – approximately $200
I decided to check this out. I entered my phone number and saw this:

What’s this? This is definitely not $200.
So I entered the husband’s phone number:
How can this be?
We have a family plan!?!
Upgrade = epic fail.
Until I call them tomorrow to investigate.

Recipe found on The Real Mom Kitchen Blog
These made our kitchen smell amazing – very fallish! I decided to go for the oversize, fresh from the local coffee shop size, i.e. huge! This means that as pretty as they look, and as good as the one I had tasted, I will not be eating another one any time soon not that I’m working on a healthier lifestyle. Unless I split one in half, or maybe even in fourths. Ok, that might work. And I’ll give a bunch away to friends and co-workers. Either way, then I won’t eat them all!

was a beautiful sunrise.
Very thankful today. Messages from friends, meals with my husband, and cuddles with our cats. Thinking about what matters, letting go of what doesn’t. Life is good.
